Scotland's Janice Moodie took the first-round lead of the LPGA Takefuji Classic with a five-under-par 67
Maruman Golf Bag. The Glaswegian lass finished late in the day at the top of the leader board crammed with LPGA stars Karrie Webb,
Golf Clubs Annika Sorenstam, Chris Johnson and Jill McGill, all at 68 (-4).
But Moodie looks the part in that company, especially after last week's top ten finish in the Australian Ladies Masters.

Said the Scot: "This course is different from what we normally play-with the elevated greens and everything. I like the layout and the holes by the water are spectacular." Moodie,
Maruman golf clubs looking for her maiden win on the LPGA tour, will be looking over her at the four players only one shot back. Webb, in scintillating form, is hoping to become the first player since JoAnne Carner in 1982 to win three tournaments in three starts, had a six-birdie, two-bogey day.
"I've been playing very consistently," said Webb, who has won The Office Depot and Australian Ladies Masters already this season. "This is only my fourth tournament this year
Maruman Golf Drivers, but I'm feeling very comfortable on the golf course. Everything seems to be paying off. I'm hitting the ball well and making a lot of putts."
