Callaway legacy forged irons spain's José Maria Canizares mastered the back nine to record the best round of the tournament Callaway x24 hot irons and grab a share of the lead Saturday with Jim Colbert after the second round at the inaugural $1.5 million Audi Senior Classic.
Seeking his first Senior PGA Tour win Callaway lady x-22 irons, Canizares made six birdies on his final nine holes to finish with Callaway big bertha diablo irons a bogey-free 9-under-par 63 and a 36-hole total of 11-under. Colbert carded 66 to move into a tie for the lead.
First-round co-leader Hubert Green, Doug Tewell and South Africa's John Bland are two shots behind the leaders. Green, who shot a 65 Friday, Golf equipment ended up with a 70 Saturday. Tewell fired a 66, and Bland posted a 68.
Caizares started the best round of his Senior Tour career with birdies on three of the first four holes Golf irons. But his surge after he made the turn vaulted him atop the leaderboard. The Spaniard began his run of four straight birdies by sinking a 5-foot putt on the 529-yard par-5 10th. After draining a 12-footer for birdie on the par-4 11th, he hit an 8-iron to 8 feet to set up his third successive birdie on the 163-yard par-3 12th. He then hit his drive left on the par-4 13th, but recovered to tap in for his fourth consecutive birdie.
Callaway irons caizares closed his round with birdies on two of the last three holes, including a 12 footer on the par-4 18th.
